The Peace for Nature – Community Environmental Action campaign was officially launched at Dengu Beach, Dar es Salaam, in a collaborative effort between Government, civil society, youth, and international partners.
The launch was graced by the District Commissioner of Ilala, Hon. Edward J. Mpogolo, as Guest of Honour. The initiative is led by the Leadership Alliance for Sustainable Development Goals (LASDGs) under the leadership of Ms. Mariam Mohamed Lulida, in partnership with Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) represented in Tanzania by Mr. Eric Martin Heri, and JUZA Waste Pickers Initiative led by Mr. Nassibu Kitabu.
The event aligned with the Government’s National Monthly Clean-Up Initiative and brought together Dar es Salaam City Council officials, community leaders, youth volunteers, and Beach Management Units to take action on coastal protection, waste recovery, and climate resilience.
The Dengu Beach launch marks the beginning of a long-term programme aimed at protecting Tanzania’s coastline while promoting peacebuilding, youth inclusion, and sustainable development.
