Profile Summary – Mariam Mohamed Lulida
Mariam Mohamed Lulida is a seasoned leader in local governance and sustainable development. She was democratically elected as a Ward Councilor for Mchafukoge, the Central Business District (CBD) of Dar es Salaam — home to key national institutions such as TPA, TRA headquarters, and the Zero Kilometer point of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR). She was one of only three women elected out of 102 wards and later served as Deputy Mayor of Dar es Salaam City.
She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Leadership Alliance for Sustainable Development Goals (LASDGs), a growing NGO committed to translating and implementing the United Nations SDGs within Tanzania’s national and local government systems.
Mariam leads strategic collaboration between LASDGs and the Local Government Training Institute (LGTI) to build the capacity of political and administrative leaders in SDG localization and implementation. She is also an alumna of the Advanced Global Leadership Program under ICLD–Sweden, which connected her with women leaders from over 189 countries working together to transform global goals into local realities.
Her passion lies in mobilizing local institutions and resources to transform the global development agenda into real, cross-cutting, people-centered change across Tanzania.
